The Timberwolves have waived veteran center Theo Ratliff. Ratliff played in 10 games for the T-Wolves this season and he averaged 21.4 minutes, 6.3 points, 3.9 rebounds, 0.7 assists and 1.9 blocked shots per game. He also shot 51% from the floor which is quite good. The T-Wolves wanted to play the young kids on the roster which is the reason they let Ratliff go. If Ratliff is healthy someone will likely pick him up for the playoff stretch run.

The Minnesota Timberwolves are disappointed in the play of their rookies

The Timberwolves have not been happy with the play of forward Corey Brewer who was their first round pick in last year’s Draft. He has played in 56 games (29 starts) this season for the Bucks and he is averaging 22.5 minutes, 5.3 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game. He is shooting horrible from the floor (35.1%) but he is shooting decent from the free throw line (75.3%) this year. The Timberwolves hope that Brewer’s shot selection improves so that his shooting % will go up. 2nd round pick Chris Richard doesn’t get to play much but he hasn’t played that bad. He has played in 27 games (3 starts) this season with the Timberwolves and he is averaging 8.6 minutes, 1.2 points, 1.8 rebounds and 0.2 assists per game. He has hit 48% of his shots from the floor and 88.9% from the free throw line. It will be tough for Richard to get extended playing time this season as he is too far down the depth chart.

Al Jefferson led the way for the Timberwolves in this game as he finished with 22 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists. Corey Brewer also had a decent game as he finished with 15 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 4 steals. Ryan Gomes pitched in with 13 points and 7 rebounds. The Timberwolves are now 12-45 on the season.
