The Timberwolves have loaded up at point guard for the 2009-2010 NBA season. The Timberwolves have signed restricted free agent Ramon Sessions who will take over as the starting point guard this year. The 23-year old Sessions played in 79 games for the Bucks last season and he averaged 27.5 minutes, 12.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, 5.7 assists and 1.1 steals per game. Sessions is just scratching the surface of his ability and the Wolves will likely let him run the show when he’s on the basketball court. The T-Wolves used the 6th pick in the NBA Draft to pick Jonny Flynn out of Syracuse. He will likely sit a lot this season behind all of the veterans the Wolves have brought in. 34-year old Antonio Daniels was brought in with a trade with the Hornets recently. He played in 74 games for the Hornets and Wizards last season and he averaged 13.8 minutes, 4.1 points, 1.0 rebound and 2.4 assists per game. He is better than he played last season and he will likely get a lot of minutes behind Sessions. He can also handle playing off guard position and he will likely get some minutes there. 35-year old Chucky Atkins came over from the Thunder in a trade and he could add some zip off the bench. He played in 32 games for the Nuggets and Thunder last season and he averaged 12.9 minutes, 3.1 points, 0.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game. Atkins is a shoot first point guard who will find minutes hard to come by this season with the Wolves.
