The Timberwolves were overmatched tonight against the Cavaliers and it showed on the scoreboard. Jonny Flynn led the way for the T-Wolves in this game with 17 points, 2 rebounds and 3 assists. He did turn the ball over 5 times tonight so he will need to protect the ball better going forward this year. Al Jefferson still looks gimpy on the floor as he finished with 12 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists in only 25 minutes on the floor. Corey Brewer was busy in this game for the Wolves with 11 points, 4 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 blocked shots. The Timberwolves are now 1-1 on the season.

The over/under on wins for the Minnesota Timberwolves this season is 27.5

I hate to tell you this T-Wolves fans but it’s going to be a very long season in the Great White North. The T-Wolves have lost Kevin Love for a while and Al Jefferson is gimpy with a Achilles problem. Those are two very scary things to consider seeing how the T-Wolves have no quality depth at either of those positions. If I had to make a bet on the Timberwolves this season it would have to be on the under.

The Minnesota Timberwolves release Antonio Daniels

Blogged under General, Comings & Goings, Bloglockers, Big Timberwolves News, Front Page by alleyoop on Saturday 24 October 2009 at 8:07 am

The Timberwolves have released veteran point guard Antonio Daniels. Daniels has been crying since he got to Minnesota saying that he wanted out of town. The T-Wolves tried to trade him but they couldn’t find a taker so they just decided to cut him. Daniels will find another team but the T-Wolves won’t miss him as Jonny Flynn and Ramon Sessions are going to share the job this season.

The Minnesota Timberwolves acquire Nathan Jawai from the Mavericks

Blogged under General, Comings & Goings, Bloglockers, Big Timberwolves News, Front Page by alleyoop on Wednesday 21 October 2009 at 8:32 am

The T-Wolves have acquired 23-year old center Nathan Jawai from the Mavericks for a future 2nd round pick. Jawai only played in 6 games last season for the Raptors and he averaged 3.2 minutes, 0.3 points and 0.4 rebounds per game. The Timberwolves were desperate for help in the frontcourt so this was likely a good trade for them. With Al Jefferson and Kevin Love out of action Jawai could get some playing time in Minnesota to show what he can do. He will battle Mark Blount and Ryan Hollins for minutes at center until Jefferson is ready to return to action. The Timberwolves did a great favor to Jawai who was buried on the depth chart in Dallas and he was scheduled to start the year in the D-League. Now it’s up to him to reward the team.
