The Minnesota Timberwolves are very happy with their rookies so far this year
Starting point guard Jonny Flynn has hit the ground running in Minnesota. He has played in 35 games (all starts) for the T-Wolves so far this season and he is averaging 29.2 minutes, 14.4 points, 2.2 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.1 steals per game. Flynn will be the starting point guard for a long time if he continues to improve as a player and there is no reason to think he won’t. Shooting guard Wayne Ellington has worked his way into the rotation lately for the T-Wolves. He has played in 33 games (1 start) for the T-Wolves this season and he is averaging 17.2 minutes, 5.8 points, 2.3 rebounds and 0.9 assists per game. It’s too bad that the Timberwolves didn’t select someone else instead of Ricky Rubio or this would truly be a outstanding rookie class.
