The Minnesota Timberwolves have some depth at point guard for 2010-11

The Timberwolves have some depth at point guard heading into 2010-11. 21-year old Jonny Flynn will likely miss the start of the year as he has underwent hip surgery. When he comes back he should get his starting gig back based on his play as a rookie last year for the T-Wolves. Flynn played in 81 games (all starts) for the T-Wolves last year and he averaged 28.9 minutes, 13.5 points, 2.4 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 1.0 steal per game. He has a huge upside as his game has a lot of room for improvement especially in the passing game.

29-year old Luke Ridnour will likely start at point guard until Flynn is ready to return to action. Ridnour played in 82 games (0 starts) for the Bucks last season in which he averaged 21.5 minutes, 10.4 points, 1.7 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game. He has now played in 516 games (278 starts) in his NBA career and he has averaged 26.0 minutes, 9.4 points, 2.3 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 1.0 steal per game. Ridnour is a good outside shooter which should space out the offense when he is on the court for the T-Wolves.

25-year old Sebastian Telfair might be gone before the year starts. He played in 43 games (1 start) for the Clippers & Cavs last season in which he averaged 15.3 minutes, 4.8 points, 1.0 rebound and 2.9 assists per game. Telfair has now played in 392 games (181 starts) in his NBA career in which he has averaged 23.6 minutes, 7.9 points, 1.6 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game.
