The Timberwolves outrebounded the Grizzlies 57-43 last night but they still got drilled because they only shot 34.8% from the floor. Wayne Ellington led the way for the Timberwolves last night with 15 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 steals. Kevin Love was solid once again with 14 points, 13 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 blocked shot in only 25 minutes on the floor. Sebastian Telfair pitched in with 12 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal. The Timberwolves are now 1-2 on the year.

The Timberwolves only shot 37.6% from the floor tonight but it didn’t matter. The Timberwolves hit the boards as they outrebounded the Bucks 62-39 and they played good D holding the Bucks to 35.6% shooting from the floor and those are the reasons for the nice home win tonight. Michael Beasley led the way for the T-Wolves in this game with 21 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal. Kevin Love only shot 3 for 13 from the floor but he still finished up with 17 points, 16 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal in 27 minutes. Luke Ridnour did a good job of running the offense tonight with 13 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 2 steals. Rookie forward Wesley Johnson pitched in with 12 points, 3 rebounds and 1 assist in 27 minutes off the bench. The Timberwolves are now 1-1 on the year.

Sacramento Kings 117, Minnesota Timberwolves 116

The Timberwolves gave a great offensive effort last night……too bad they didn’t play any D. Luke Ridnour was very solid in his first game with the T-Wolves as he finished up with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Michael Beasley was also solid in his T-Wolves debut finishing with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 1 assist. Sebastian Telfair was outstanding off the bench for the Timberwolves with 15 points, 2 rebounds and 6 assists in only 16 minutes last night. Anthony Tolliver stuffed the stat sheet for the Timberwolves with 14 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal and 4 blocked shots in only 28 minutes on the floor. The Timberwolves start out the 2010-11 season 0-1.

The Minnesota Timberwolves will be without Martell Webster for a while

Blogged under General, Bloglockers, Big Timberwolves News, Front Page, Injuries by alleyoop on Tuesday 26 October 2010 at 4:41 pm

Starting shooting guard Martell Webster is out indefinitely due to recent minor back surgery which removed part of a herniated disc. That means the T-Wolves will be back to the same pair of SGs that they played last season, Corey Brewer & Wayne Ellington. The shocking part of this is that the T-Wolves appear to be leaning towards starting Ellington. Corey Brewer must have gotten someone mad at him as he is coming off the best season of his career.

The over/under for the Minnesota Timberwolves wins in 2010-11 is 23.5

Blogged under General, The Sportsbook, Bloglockers, Front Page by alleyoop on Monday 25 October 2010 at 4:34 pm

The Timberwolves were 15-67 last season and I don’t see them being any better in 2010-11. Martell Webster was brought in to start at shooting guard and he had surgery on his back recently. Darko Milicic is going to start at center again this year! This is a pathetic basketball team and I would be stunned if they won more games then they did last year. Take the under for T-Wolves wins in 2010-11. They are also 275-1 to win the NBA Championship and they realistically should be 50,000 to 1.
