The Minnesota Timberwolves will be without Michael Beasley indefinitely

The Timberwolves will be without 23-year old starting small forward indefinitely due to a mid foot sprain. Beasley has played in 7 games (all starts) for the Timberwolves this year and he is averaging 31.7 minutes, 12.9 points, 7.0 rebounds and 1.0 assist per game. He will be replaced in the starting lineup by 20-year old rookie Derrick Williams. Williams has played in 10 games (0 starts) for the Timberwolves so far this year and he is averaging 21.3 minutes, 8.7 points, 4.6 rebounds and 0.6 assists per game. He should do a solid job until Beasley is ready to return to action.

The Minnesota Timberwolves will be without SG Martell Webster for a while

The T-Wolves are going to be without 25-year old shooting guard indefinitely as he recovers from back surgery to repair a herniated disk. Webster played in 46 games (1 starts) for the Timberwolves last year (his first in Minnesota) and he averaged 23.2 minutes, 9.8 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game. The Timberwolves are going to miss his shooting as he nailed 41.7% of his shots from three point range. Wesley Johnson and Wayne Ellington are going to have to handle the shooting guard position for the T-Wolves until Webster is ready to return to action.

The Minnesota Timberwolves acquired Malcolm Lee last night

The Minnesota Timberwolves acquired 21-year old, 6′5″, 200 pound shooting guard Malcolm Lee from the Bulls as part of a draft day deal with them. Lee was picked 43rd overall last night. Lee played in 33 games for UCLA last night and he averaged 33.1 minutes, 13.1 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game. Lee played in 94 games in his three years in college and he averaged 26.7 minutes, 9.7 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game. Lee will try to fight for playing time at shooting guard, where the Timberwolves are pretty deep.

UPDATE: (12/30/2011) - The Timberwolves will be without Malcolm Lee for about the next six weeks as he had surgery today to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee.

Anthony Tolliver is playing solid basketball off the bench for the Minnesota Timberwolves

25-year old power forward Anthony Tolliver is giving the T-Wolves solid production whenever Kevin Love needs a break. Tolliver has played in 17 games (0 starts) so far this year for the T-Wolves and he is averaging 19.8 minutes, 6.9 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game. He has also been shooting really well from long range as he is 13 of 31 (41.9%) from behind the three point line. Tolliver has been a welcome addition to the Timberwolves so far this year and they hope he can keep up the good work.

UPDATE: (12/5/2010) - Anthony Tolliver is going to be out a while due to a sprained right MCL.

Nikola Pekovic is going to miss some time for the Minnesota Timberwolves

25-year old backup center Nikola Pekovic is going to miss the next week or two with a sprained ankle. Pekovic has played in 10 games (0 starts) for the T-Wolves so far this year and he is averaging 13.4 minutes, 5.5 points, 3.3 rebounds and 0.3 assists per game. He’s playing pretty solid basketball so far behind Darko Milicic so the T-Wolves hope he gets better soon.
